There's no stopping the Sade party as the group's "Soldier of Love" retains the top slot on the Billboard 200 for a third straight week. The album sold 127,000 (down 34%), according to Nielsen SoundScan. In the runner-up slot, Lady Antebellum's "Need You Now" holds down No. 2 position for a third week as well, shifting 118,000 (down 18%).Unlike last week, where the chart was so sleepy you had to scroll all the way down to No. 42 to find the highest debut, this week there are a pair of new entries in the top 15. Johnny Cash's "American VI: Ain't No Grave," bows at No. 3 with 54,000. It's the late legend's final installment in his American Recordings series with producer Rick Rubin. The last one, "American V: A Hundred Highways," debuted at No. 1 with 88,000 in July of 2006. |
Last week, a three-year-old girl named Cody became Internet famous for crying her eyes out over Justin Bieber. (The reasons were numerous, from "I love him," to "I don't get to see him all day," to " I want him to be one of my family.") |
Lil Wayne didn't go to prison yesterday due to a courthouse fire, but that didn't stop the rapper from "Goin' In" during Young Jeezy's set at Jay-Z's "Blueprint 3" tour stop in New York last night (March 2). According to MTV, his sentencing has been rescheduled for Monday (Mar. 8)."I'm gonna go into some real shit for y'all right here," Jay-Z warned before Jeezy came up out the ground by way of a mechanical lift about 45 minutes after Jay's set started. After performing their collabo, "Real As It Gets," Jay-Z exited the stage for Jeezy's solo performance, which turned out not to be so "solo" after all. After spitting a few verses, including the one from Shawty Lo's "Dey Know," Jeezy gave a "shout out to my homie Lil Wayne -- hold your head up." He then said he wanted to bring someone out to dedicate a record to him, which was when Nicki Minaj, sporting gold tights, a fitted black blazer and her staple black and pink wig entered the stage, performing her verse from "Bedrock." "Where's my bad bitches at?" Nicki asked the crowd. |
